Blog: Spiritual Development

Post  danbo on Wed Sep 17, 2014 2:40 pm

The blog I chose is Spiritual Development. Spiritual development is a blog written by Joebulao Jr. and commented on by many followers everyday. The blogs goal is to help people become more in touch with their spiritual side and tries to teach us ways that everyone can become spiritual. The blog presents itself in a professional manner, its blog posts are neatly  filed and the blog itself is easy to navigate. The blog comes across as a self help type of website where the author and the commentors are all working toward a common goal. The site is not ultimately religious like when the author says “Most of the members of our churches are not developed in their spiritual life.” he is most likely not speaking out against those who participate in a church but stresses that spirituality can come even without a religion.

The site can be beneficial to just about anyone who has beliefs or a spiritual side. Its material is understandable to someone at a high school level and is not an extremely tough read. Specifically the ideal audience would be church goers or non religious people who seem to go through the motions of faith. This site would be beneficial since it helps those who read it to rethink current situations and encourages its audience to examine our own lives and manners of faith.

The audience communicates impressively well on this site. There are very few fights in the posts and those that do exist are argued between the posters in a productive way. The majority of audience replies are people talking of the help a post gave to them or a genuine thank you to the author for his enlightening work. I noticed some posts don't have very many replies at all yet there are others that the audience must particularly like with many comments.

The blog works with its audience on a universal level, everyone has the ability to think spiritually the blog does the job of encouraging you. The relationship also goes both ways. Instead of the author just talking at the audience he responds to there comments and includes insightful information to specific questions a reader might have asked.

Chapter three Academic writer

Rhetorical situation is the situation that surrounds the idea of the piece. It involves the best way to portray what the author is trying to convey to his or her specific audience. It takes into account who the audience is and what the author wants to get across. In certain situations it might be okay to shoot someone a text but there are times when a letter might better fit the situation. For example, if someone were to receive a text saying they got into a specific college they might think less of that school than if they received a letter of acceptance. Rhetorical situation is all about the "feel" that surrounds the piece. Rhetorical analysis is the thought the author puts forth and the way someone from their audience would interpret it. Rhetorical analysis is the author thinking up what he wants to get across and who he or she may want it to be interpreted by. The aspects of an authors rhetorical analysis of their audience are endless, they could concern age, sex, race, religion, and even strange aspects like weight if it is relevant.

When writing online I try to stick to logos. Picking logos and sticking to it at times is difficult when dealing with people online who will sometimes try and refute facts and argue from a purely emotional stance. To me logos is the best way to argue ones point since it is rational and logical meaning one shouldn't put their emotions in front of facts. When an argument is said and done the person who wins is the person who can argue with facts and logic since if your facts are straight and your logic is sound theres no way someones feelings can get in the way of a solid argument. Also, when relaying a message logic and facts work the best to get your point across because playing on someones emotions only works while there emotional but eventual we always come back to logic.
